M Bill Clinton

Bill Clinton (born 1946), the 42nd President (1993–2001), presided over the longest peacetime economic expansion in U.S. history. A former Arkansas governor, he was a centrist New Democrat who balanced the federal budget and signed welfare reform and NAFTA into law. Clinton’s tenure saw a push for universal healthcare (which failed), the intervention in the Kosovo War, and impeachment by the House in 1998 over the Monica Lewinsky scandal (he was acquitted by the Senate and remained in office).

Interesting anecdote: Clinton, a talented saxophone player, famously showcased his musical side on national TV. During the 1992 presidential campaign, he appeared on “The Arsenio Hall Show” in dark sunglasses, playing “Heartbreak Hotel” on the sax. That memorable moment helped humanize him with voters and is often credited with boosting his popularity among younger audiences.
